Day 017 – The necessity of Temptations!!!

The necessity of Temptations!!!

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the Wilderness to be Tempted by the Devil….. Matthew 4:1

The Only way we can prove that we Love God is my overcoming Temptations that seeks to break our fellowship with the Lord. Temptation should be seen as an opportunity to prove our Love for God and His Command.

From the beginning of Creation, when God made Man, He said to Him ” Of Every Tree of the garden, You may eat freely But of the Tree of the knowledge of Good and evil You shall not eat(Genesis 2:16-17). If God did not want Man to eat from it, why did He planted it then? It was to give man an opportunity to Choose!!! How would You know if Your child Loves You and ready to obey You if You never gave Him a Command? God has given Us Commands so that we can prove our Love for Him. Jesus says in John 14:15 “If You Love Me, keep My Commandments”

God does not Tempt people (James 1:13), but He permits the Devil to Tempt us with the Desires in our flesh. Because He knows that Temptation is Good for Us. There is no way we shall become strong if we don’t exercise our muscles. James 1:12 says “Blessed is the Man who endures Temptation, for when He has been approved, He will receive the crown of Life which the Lord has promised to those who Love Him” Let us see Temptations as a means of gaining God’s approval. Temptation is the testing of our faith(James 1:2).

Although Jesus taught Us to pray to the Father “Lead Us not into Temptation (Matt 6:13). Yet We see that the Holy Spirit led Jesus to the Wilderness to be Tempted by the Devil. One thing I know is that even though we find ourselves in a tempting situation, we can be sure that Our Father will never allow us to be tempted beyond our abilities. And in every Temptations, He will provide a way of escape(1 Corinthians 10:13).

It is also important to note at this point that Temptation is different from Sin. Jesus was tempted But He never Sinned(Hebrews 4:15). Because we carry a Flesh which is very corrupt, even after we are Born again, We still carry the Same Flesh. We will always be Tempted. Temptations will come to an end when Jesus returns in glory to give us a glorified body which is incorruptible. Until then, we will always be Tempted to Sin but we need not Sin because God has given us the Spirit of Grace to empower us to live in Victory over Sins. Temptation becomes Sin when we yield and agree with the dirty desires of the Flesh(James 1:14-15).

It is also important to note that Jesus was tempted Exactly Like Us(Hebrews 4:15). If Jesus was not tempted like we are, then it would be impossible for Him to be our example. We must believe this Truth. It would be wickedness for God to point Jesus to Us as an example if He never experienced what we experienced!!! Hebrews 4:17-18 says “Jesus has to be made in ALL things like His brothers and sisters… and because He Himself has suffered and being tempted, He is able to Help those who are also Tempted” This is the Truth that changed My own Life Few years ago and I have never stopped proclaiming It. We can walk on this Earth as Jesus walked(1 John 2:6), We can walk in the footsteps of Him who committed No Sin(1 Peter 2:21-22). I wonder why Today’s Christianity don’t see these Truths in the Bible. It is because we have lost our fear of God. Indeed, the secret of the Lord are with those who fear Him(Psalm 25:14). This is called the “Mystery of Godliness (1 Timothy 3:16). What we need is revelation. No amount of teaching and preaching will make You believe that Jesus came Exactly like You and tempted at ALL Points Like You are. What We must pray for is revelation.

Finally, Jesus was tempted in the wilderness when He was alone. We are more prone to Temptations when We are alone. If you don’t spend your spare time properly, You are very Likely to be more prone to Temptations. Indeed an Idle mind is the Devil’s Workshop. Each time you are alone, Spend it on Profitable things like Meditation and Reading of the Scriptures. Don’t give opportunity to the Devil. Get engaged in Profitable things!!!

So Dear Friend, Our God is not a Wicked Father who has permitted Temptations, It is the only Way for You to prove Your Love and Loyalty to Him. There is no promotion without an Examination. There is no other way to win God’s approval without being Tempted. See Temptation as a means of putting the Devil to shame. God will never allow You to be tempted beyond Your ability!!! You can overcome as Christ Overcame. Remember Jesus was Just Like You. Tempted Just like You. Name Your Temptations: Tempted to Steal? Tempted to Lie? Tempted to Fornicate? Tempted to Masturbate? Tempted to Lust and watch dirty Movies? Tempted to Love Money?. He was Tempted at ALL Points just Like we are!!! There is no partiality with God, what He did for Jesus, He will do for Us!!! Ask God to Give You revelation on this Great Mystery of the Humanity of Jesus Christ. It would change Your Life as it changed Mine. 

May God our Father Open Our Eyes to see clearly the Real Jesus that the Bible teaches.(Amen).
