The Word Became Flesh!!!
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth…..John 1:14
In our last study, we saw how Christ was rejected by His own and that everyone who has chosen to follow in this step to stand for the truth will also be rejected. We also noted that those who receive Him and believe in his name, He gives the right to become children of God not because we are born into a Christian home or because of our self determination to be disciplined neither is it as a result of any man’s will but God’s. Today we shall be considering the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us: This verse tells us about Jesus Christ which is the Word which we have considered previously in our study through whom all things were created becoming like us. He became flesh means he became like us. Flesh is the word used of the human race after the fall of Adam. We are told in Romans 8:3 that God sent His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh which means he had the same flesh as we do, that flesh in which we have desires and in that desires, we are tempted to sin. And in that same flesh, He was tempted in every way exactly as we are yet was without sin….. Hebrews 4:15. This is a clear proof that He was 100% man on earth as He is 100% God because if He hadn’t come in the flesh, he won’t be tempted and as we know in James 1:13 that God cannot be tempted. But He never gave up His Deity as God as we can see in the gospels where He accepted worship and only God deserves to be worshipped (Deuteronomy 6:13) So we see He had to become a man like us in order to be tempted. Oh Behold the humility of Christ!!! He had to empty all the privileges He has as God in order to become a man like us and dwell among us leaving us an example. Indeed this is a great mystery!! That Christ came in the flesh….1 Timothy 3:16. This is very difficult for our mind to grasp that He came in the flesh just as we are, tempted in every way as we are yet without sin. And we are told in 1 John 2:6 to live as Christ lived on this earth. Sincerely, This is the secret of Godliness! The day you believe that Christ came in the flesh, you become free from the deception of the devil that you can never live like Christ.

And we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth: All human beings have manifested sin in their flesh but in Jesus, No sin!! Either consciously, unconsciously or in any form, He came in the flesh but what did we see Him manifest in this flesh? GLORY!!! In this flesh, He manifested Glory as of the only begotten from the Father full of Grace and Truth! Grace and Truth is the balance that there is in the Glory of God. And this perfect balance full of Grace and Truth that is 100% Grace and 100% Truth was found in Christ without sin. This is the message of the Gospel!
What is the message in this for us? The message is that by the power of the Holy spirit, He can do the same thing in us who are still living in our flesh. That is, the glory of God can be made manifest in our lives too if we submit to the Holyspirit. This is the good news of the Gospel!! That we don’t have to yield to the lust in our flesh and manifest sin. The same glory that Christ manifested, we too can manifest perhaps not to that degree for He is so utterly faithful but in a smaller measure.

Dear Friend, remember Christ came in the same flesh like ours and is tempted in every way exactly as we are yet without sin but manifested the glory! We can live as he lived! There is no need for Anger, Bitterness, Jealousy, Sexaul Immorality and all kinds of sin to dwell in this flesh anymore but Grace and Truth! Don’t come short of this glory!  May the Lord give us Grace to overcome these sins(Amen). God bless you. Have a blessed day.
