The Kingdom within!!!
Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation;, nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”  Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.  And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other partunder heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.  But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation…….. Luke 17:20-25
In our last study, we considered the story of the Ten lepers that was cleansed by the Lord and how it was only one out of ten came back to show gratitude to the Lord. We noted that even today out of the Multitude that cried out to the Lord when they were in need, only few return with a grateful heart to give Glory to the Lord. Today, we shall continue in our study by considering what Jesus has to say about the coming of His Kingdom.
Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come: The Pharisees came to Jesus with a very important question and thank God they did because it has helped us to learn something about the Kingdom of God. The Pharisees have probably heard that Jesus taught His Disciples to pray, ” Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.  Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven(Matt 6:9-10)”. So it seems to me that the Pharisees were asking, ” “when will this glorious Kingdom Come? When shall we see this long-looked-for kingdom? When shall we start ruling and other nations of the world will become subjected to us? “. The Pharisees were so external in their understanding of the Kingdom of God. They are always seeking for a sign and visible experience from God. They don’t understand what it means to live by faith. Unless they see with their eyes, they will not accept and believe. Are you also like this? Always more concerned with the external manifestation of the Kingdom of God? Are you always thinking in terms of the temporal things instead of the invisible? If you are, then permit me to say that, you are probably a Pharisees. And so you need to listen attentively to what the Lord has to say to you about the Kingdom of God.
He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation;, nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you : Listen to what the Lord says to these Pharisees, let me paraphrase it, He said, “The Kingdom of God is not an external thing!!! It not something that is going to come and deliver you from the Romans who are your enemies or make you the greatest people on earth. It is not going to come with External signs and Miracles.” God does Miracles when He sees necessity for it and when He wants to do so. It is in God’s sovereign hands to do Miracles. But the Kingdom of God does not come with all these outward pop and show. It comes quietly!!! When a person is born again, He enters God Kingdom and the Kingdom of God comes within Him. He becomes filled with the Holy Spirit. It does not necessarily come with external show. The external manifestation are not primary but the reality of God’s government coming in a person’s life. The Kingdom of God is within!!! It is within a Man’s Heart. That’s where God wants to rule. The Kingdom of God is not here or there!!! It is not in this particular Church or that particular church group. It is a life within. It is a life of righteousness, Peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. It is a life within us where we have a life filled with Righteousness, where we have peace with God, men and even with our enemies. It is a life where we can rejoice in the Lord always and in every situation through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is the Kingdom of God!!! It has nothing to do with observation. It is a Life within us. There are many who have a false life on the external but within they are Hypocrites. They think they have victory but all they have got is suppression. The kingdom of God will not change men’s outward condition, but their hearts and lives. It makes those who are proud become Humble, it weans those from the world that were wedded to the world and therefore look for the kingdom of God in the revolutions of the heart, not of the civil government.

Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.:  This has always been true of all true Disciples of the Lord. All true Disciples of the Lord long for the physical presence of Jesus. They say just like John the beloved says in His Last word in the Bible, ” come, Lord Jesus!(Rev 22:20)”. Many at times, we long to see Jesus in this Sin cursed Earth, full of suffering, turmoil and trials. But Jesus says, “You will not see it!!!”. Why? God is testing you. He is allowing a period of testing and trials to those who truly love him. It is in our patience, long suffering and endurance that we prove our Love for the Lord. Let us therefore never be discouraged but instead press on towards perfection and keep saying, “Come, Lord Jesus Come!!!”
And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them: In these days of our waiting and Longing, so many people and false Prophets will teach all types of things, Jesus says, “Don’t run after them!!! You don’t have to run after all these sensational Preacher and prophet who talks about so many wonderful things that does not build the Kingdom of God within You. If you pursue after Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit, in God’s time, Jesus would come back and you will delight at his appearance and not hide your face in shame.
For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.: When Jesus returns, everyone will see Him. There will be no doubt in anyone’s mind whether Christ has come or not. Don’t ever follow those people who says, “Christ has come secretly over there or here!!!”. Don’t be deceived by all these people. There is not going to be a secret rapture. Everyone will see it like the lightning that flashes in the sky. Many will not be ready and taken up to meet Him because they have not kept this Kingdom of God within them. It is this Kingdom within us that prepares us for the coming of the Kingdom of His Glory when He returns.
But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.:But before the day of His Glory, there is the day of His suffering. There is always a suffering before the Glory. Even for Jesus, it was like that. He suffered a lot and faced many rejection before He got the Highest position in Heaven. This principle applies to all the Disciples of Jesus. First, we have to suffer and be rejected. That rejection of Christ will be reproduced in us by this generation in the rejection of the body of Christ which is the Church. This is the pathway to Glory!!! Romans 8:17-18 says, ” if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Let us therefore remain faithful in this time of suffering and rejection that we may be worthy to reign with Him when He returns in Glory!!!
Dear Friend, Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Let us guard the Kingdom of God within us with all diligence!!! For Christ is coming back again to to take take us home to forever be with him in our Father’s Kingdom in Heaven. Oh Come Lord Jesus, Come!!! May the Grace of God keep us from falling until we see Him face to face and be transformed to His glorious body.(Amen). God bless you. Have a blessed day.
#Everyday with Jesus.
