The killing of the Galileans and the Fall of the Tower of Siloam!!!
There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish  Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?  I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”……. Luke 13:1-5
In our last study, we considered the parable of the Rich Fool. We saw how a Man can be rich in the things of the world yet not rich towards God. Today, we shall consider some Truths about Evil occurrence and Repentance.
There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.: There are many who have this notion that evil things only happens to the worst Sinners. Whenever they hear that something evil happens to someone, in their mind that say, ” if he or she is in tune with God, such would never have happened to Him”. Are you like that? Do you look at the occurrence in people’s lives to judge whether they are Sinners or not? I remember the story of a Pastor who died in a Motor accident and when the case was reported to some people, they were like, “If this Pastor knew God, God would have delivered Him from such accident” Do you have such thought when you hear about the Evil that happens to someone? Then you are like these people. Let us therefore hear what the Lord has to say concerning this Matter.
And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish: Jesus made it clear that such incident don’t necessarily punish the worst Sinners in the world.  Accident and calamities and even murder don’t necessarily take place to the worst Sinner. Jesus and All His Apostles died Like a Criminal. Those who are carnal minded will say, “Why didn’t God deliver them?” in fact, during Christ Crucifixion, those who passed by said, ” He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said , ‘I am the Son of God.’” So we see that the Greatest Evil that ever happened on Earth happened to a Man who has never sinned in His whole Life!!!

However, the most important thing is to repent. He said whether you die with a tower of Siloam falling on you or you are killed by Pilate makes no difference. One day, death will overtake us one way or the other. How we die has no correlation with our relationship with the Lord. The important thing is that before Death overtakes us, we Repent of our Sins. Otherwise, we will all perish. The thing that will make a Man perish is failure to Repent of Sin. The only thing that separates and break our fellowship with the Lord is Sin. Sin should be something we should be afraid of more than any Evil occurrence. If we are to choose between Being Crucified or Sinning, we must choose to Die. It was written concerning Jesus in Hebrews 12:3-4 ” For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.” Let us therefore renew our mind to see that Failure to Repent is far more dangerous than using our blood as sacrifice to one useless gods. And that It is better to Die in a building Collapse than to have a Sin you have not repented of dwelling in your life.
We know however that Romans 8:28 says, ” All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” remains Truth. For those who are really whole hearted Disciples of Jesus, seeking to live in the will of God, nothing can never happen to them without God’s permission. No Tower of Siloam can fall upon them, no person can kill them, nothing can touch them without God’s permission. Jesus said in Revelation 1:18, ” I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” It is Jesus that opens the door of Death for His Disciples if we walk in His will. If we choose our own way and claim to be God’s Children, and live for ourselves or money and to enjoy ourselves, then of course Death may come before God’s time. The promise in Romans 8:28 does not hold true for those who are living for themselves. The promise is for those living on Earth whose ambition is to do the will of God. It is for those who are living in continuous Repentance, cleansing themselves of Sin in their lives. Let us therefore never be afraid of Death. For we have a Father who watches over us day and night. We have a Father who has numbered every single hair on our head. Nothing can happen to us without His Permission!!! Even in the old Covenant, The Devil could not touch Job’s properties and family until God permitted it. How much more in the New Covenant?
Dear Friend, as long as you have set your mind to live your life doing the Will of God, no Sickness, accidents, cancer,…. name it can take your life without God’s permission. You are IMMORTAL, until You have finished the will of God for Your Life. No one could touch Jesus or kill Him before His time and the Father loves us exactly as He loves Jesus. Live your life doing the Will of the Father like Jesus did and nothing shall take your life before God’s time. May the Lord give us wisdom to walk in the footsteps of Jesus(Amen). God bless you. Have a blessed day.
#Everyday with Jesus.
