The Women who Supplied  Jesus needs !!!
Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve werewith Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance……. Luke 8:1-3
In our previous Study, we were considering the story of the well known Sinner who came to appreciate the Lord because of the mercy she had received. We noted that the awareness of how much the Lord has Forgiven us will make us love Him Much. Those who love the Lord little are yet to realize how much they have been forgiven. Here we shall be looking at what Jesus preached and those who supported Him with their money.
Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. : Jesus was a tireless Preacher. Even since He entered the His Ministry at the age of thirty, we went out doing good. He went to both Cities and villages. He was not like Today’s Preachers who love to preach in the cities but never wish to be in the villages. He was not like Today’s Preachers who will attend  Conference in the cities but send delegates to Villages to represent them. There is no partiality with Jesus, He visited the Cities and also the Villages. Whether we are in the cities or in the Villages, we can be sure that Christ will visit us with His words. What a relief!!! Let us therefore open our hearts to receive Him Whether in the Cities or in the Villages.

Notice what Jesus preached. He was not preaching Healing. He Preached the Kingdom of God. He proclaimed  about the Kingdom of Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit. He preached a Kingdom where God is the center of our lives and not self. He preached a Life where we can be righteous at all times, a life where we can be at peace with God and Man, a life where we can rejoice always in every circumstances we find ourselves. This is the message of the Kingdom of God!!!
And the twelve were with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance:  Here we see something beautiful about Jesus. Apart from His Disciples, there were some women that also traveled along with Jesus. The Old testament Prophets did not take women along with them but Jesus did. The Jews had no place for women in their ministry. Under the law, women had no place at all. But Jesus came to start a new age where the Spirit will be poured out on Men and Women, Sons and Daughters will prophesy. Although in the New Covenant, a woman is not called to be an Elder or a Shepherd or a Teacher or to have authority over any Man. This is crystal clear in 1 Timothy 2:12 which says, ” And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence” But a Woman is called to be a witness for Christ and to tell others about what Jesus has done for Her Like Mary Magdalena, the first witness of the resurrection who proclaimed to others what she has seen. And a woman who Fears the Lord and who is Humble enough to recognize that ALL aspects of the Scriptures is inspired by the Holy Spirit and not by Paul or Peter will submit to the teachings of the Apostles in the epistles.

Among the women that followed Jesus, we find Mary Magdalena who was formerly possessed by seven demons. Just imagine what seven demons would make a lady do. Probably prostitution. And also we find Johanna, the wife of one of Herod’s Manager. A very rich woman, and also Susanna and many more. Both rich and poor are welcome to the Lord. He is not against the Rich but He is against the proud. These were those who supported Jesus with their money. For the first thirty years of Jesus life, He earn his income as a Carpenter but when He started His Ministry, there was no time. And God used people to provide His need. Jesus did not sought for it but when people gave Him, He Humbled Himself and received It. These should encourage the rich that they can use their money for the expansion of God’s kingdom. So that more ground will be gained for the Lord. And this should be an encouragement to our sisters that those mentioned that supplied the needs of Jesus were All women. And I have seen it again and again that women are so generous in things pertaining to God and His Church. There are more names written in Heaven that we don’t know and Yet they have supported the work of God secretly. When we stand before the Lord and begins to reward us, then we shall truly know who and who has supported the Lord and His servants.
Dear Friend, whatever You have to offer for the expansion of Kingdom, offer it now. It could be your time, it could be your money, it could be Your intelligence it could be your energy. The Lord will repay You here on Earth and even in Heaven. Even if it is a little cup of Cold water you can offer for the service of the Lord, offer it!!! May the Lord give us Grace never to withhold to ourselves what could have been used for the Glory of God and the use of His People.(Amen). God bless you. Have a blessed day.
#Everyday with Jesus.
