The Song of Mary!!!
And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord,  And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.  For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me,

And holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty. He has helped His servant Israel,

In remembrance of His mercy, As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever.”
And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house….. Luke 1:46-56
In our previous study, we were considering what Elizabeth said to Mary immediately Mary stepped into Her house. Here we see Mary bursting out in songs of praise to the Lord for counting Her worthy of this great privilege to be the one to bear the second person of the Trinity in Her womb. Despite she traveled a long distance to get to the house of Zachariah and Elizabeth, yet she was not tired to Sing Praise to the Lord. The Joy of the Lord is her strength. Here in her song, we shall see some principles in God’s choice of a Person. If the Father is seeking for those whom He shall use to build the body of Christ which is the Church today, the song of Mary shows us the things He looks for in His Vessels.
And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord,  And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior: She called God her Saviour. Despite the Father has chosen her to be the mother of Jesus, Yet she recognize that She was a Sinner that needs to be saved. She never got puffed up to think that she had become Someone Special. She acknowledged that she needs Salvation too. Jesus died for her Sins just like every other Human being. And her soul rejoices in this fact. Similarly, those whom the Lord uses to build His church today are those who recognize that they are Sinners saved by Grace. In 1 Timothy 1:15, the Holy Spirit said through Paul, ” This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am CHIEF” The reason why Paul became the kind of Man He became was because He admitted that He was the Chief of Sinners saved by Mercy. Those who think they have not committed gross Sins like others and inwardly congratulate themselves that they are better than other Sinners can never be used to build the body of Christ. Peter became a great Apostle because He had failed and deny the Lord in Public and for the rest of His life, He never forgets the Fact that He once denied the Lord. Let us therefore never become proud because the Lord has chosen us and think that He chose us because we are more righteous than others. We must always say like Paul, “I am the Chief of Sinners but saved by His Grace and Mercy!!! Therefore My Soul Magnifies and Rejoice in God, My Saviour!!!”
For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.: One of the reason why the Lord picked Mary was because She was Humble. God never uses a proud Man or woman to build the body of Christ. God resist the proud(James 4:6). The Lord pushes those who are proud down. He never Commits His works to the Hands of a Proud Man. If you ever see a proud Man doing something for the Lord, I can guarantee You that whatever He does has no eternal Value. Whatever He does in the name of the Lord are the woods, hays and straws that would be burn to ashes on the Judgement Day(1 Corinthians 3:13-15). The Lord always regard those who are in a Humble state like Mary. 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 says, “For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.”

Indeed those whom the Lord chose are called blessed by All generation. Just as Mary has been called blessed because she was selected to bear the Physical body of Christ in Her womb, all those who have been selected also to build the Spiritual body of Christ which is the Church will be called blessed by All generation. If You find Yourself actively involved in the building of a pure Local church in area, I can guarantee You in Jesus name that one day, Generations will call You blessed. Presently, they may insult You and call you names like, “Fanatic, False Teacher, Hypocrite etc”. A day is coming when ALL nations will called You “Blessed of the Father”. Let us therefore remain Humble in our service to the Lord.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me,and holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation.: Another thing Mary recognized is in the Almighty Power of God and the Holiness of his name. A very good thing those who are called to build the body of Christ must believe is that God is Almighty, He has all authority in Heaven and on Earth. He works all things according to the counsel of His will. There is absolutely nothing that Happens to us without the foreknowledge of God. Nothing catches Him by surprise. Nothing is impossible for Him to do. We must believe all these with all our Heart lest we begin to feel the Devil in control when we face a difficult situation. God is Almighty!!! Similarly, God’s name is Holy. His nature is Holy. The only thing that separates God from Man is Sin. Holiness should be the center core of all our messages. Any Message that does not drive us to Holiness should be thrown into the dustbin. When the Message of Holiness becomes a strange Message in a church, then it means that the Leaders are not aiming for Holiness. A Church becomes Like Her Leaders. If you want to know what your church values, note what the leaders place emphasis on in their sermons. God is seeking for men and women who values Holiness and seeking to lead others into a life of Holiness.
And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.: Even today, God Looks all over the Earth for those who fear Him to show Mercy. There is a fear of God that is Right and there is a Fear of God that is wrong. It is wrong to have a fear that God is going to hurt you or harm us. If we have this kind of Fear, it will affect our service for the Lord. God is not looking for us to harm us rather He is looking for us to help and save us from the terrible conditions that Sin has caged us. The Right fear of God is the fear that I will hurt and disappoint God with My Sins and Actions. We must be afraid lest we break the Heart of God with our Sins. We must be afraid to Sin not because God will punish us but Because God loves us so much. Imagine Someone Loves You so much and has done many things for You won’t you be careful and afraid to wrong such a Person? This is the right type of fear of God that we must have.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty.: Again, Mary talks about Humility. Humility is the greatest virtue of the Christian Life. Show Me a Man that is Humble and I can guarantee You of a Man who has the Grace of God upon Him. For God gives Grace to the Humble(James 4:6). Without Grace, Sin will have Dominion over us. Romans 6:14 says, ” For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”. Those who become Slave to sinful habit are in such conditions because they are proud in one way or the other. Immediately God sees Pride in us, He withdraws His Grace from us and before we know it, we fall into Sin. God pulls down those who feel they are strong and up and exalts those who remain Humble. The reason why Jesus never sinned as a Man was because the Grace of God was Upon Him from Childhood until Death. The Humblest Man who ever walked on Earth was Jesus Christ. And He says to us, “Learn from Me how to be Humble and gentle(Matt 11:29).

Only those who are hungry and thirst are fed by God. Those who are aware of their own need are the choice vessel of God. The Lord invites to Himself only those who are hungry and thirsty. He says,“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink(John 7:37).” Those who are full of themselves and self sufficient, He sends away. Those who are rich in their own eyes, He leaves empty. You want the Lord to choose You Like He chose Mary, then seek after Humility and have a sense of your own need. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled(Matt 5:6).
He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever.”: Lastly, We must recognize that the reason why the Lord has chosen to Help us is because of His Mercy. It is not based on something that we have done for Him. It is all because of what He has promised in His words. When the Lord uses us to build His body, it is all because of His mercy and not because we are intelligent and smart. Rather it is because He has promised to build his church through Men and women who made themselves available.
Dear Friend, Pursue after Humility and the Fear of God. Seek after Mercy and His Grace. Be aware of Your own Spiritual need. Always seek to go down. Have a low estimate about Yourself and You will see the Lord lifting You up to build the Body of Christ. These are the things God Looks for In Men and women who will build His Church. May the Lord find these qualities in us in Jesus name(Amen). God bless you. Have a blessed day.
